A good archive must be able to offload older data from these frontline systems and move it to long term repositories. In the process, it should compress the information and apply single instancing to eliminate redundant copies.

2 – Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator enables rapid response to legal or regulatory inquiries by searching across multiple end users based on keywords in the e-mail contents, including attachments. NetApp primary and secondary storage enable rapid searches and rapid retrieval from the archives, respectively. NetApp SnapLock ensures that no data can be tampered with, helping to ensure “chain of custody” and helping to prevent “spoilage”.
